We are pleased to have the opportunity to introduce Vega as a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor at Waves Psychotherapy Services, P. C.
Vega's clinical experience includes treating depression, anxiety, ADHD/ADD, trauma, self-esteem issues, relational conflict, challenging behaviors, among other issues from school age to adulthood. She has over 12 years of experience in the behavioral health field, including short and long term treatment (VA), intensive in-home counseling (VA), psychiatric hospital facilities (PR), law enforcement (PR), and community-based settings (PR/VA) and over 5 years working with multicultural communities in Hampton Roads.

In addition to her full time job, she collaborates as a volunteer in multiple community organizations such as PTSA, Círculo de Latinas de Hampton Roads / Circle of Latinas of Hampton Roads, Greater 24, Center for Family Involvement and Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center.
Due to her Hispanic heritage and multicultural involvement, she includes crucial factors (e.g. belief systems, ethnicity, etc.) into the therapeutic process to deliver an effective treatment.
She utilizes a variety of theoretical perspectives (e.g. CBT, Solution-Focused, Person-Centered approach, etc.), and incorporates integrated care, holistic approaches and creative techniques to make therapy a comfortable process in a safe and non-judgmental environment. She places a priority on integrity, respect, dignity and professional ethical standards.
